Many folks wouldn’t think of having a birthday bash for a 1 year old’s birthday.

It is however, a great idea. Sure, birthday boy or girl won’t be picking a card or the magician reading their minds…well it might work…’ga ga’ or ‘I want sweetie’..could well be going through their minds, but it is the rest of the group that have arrived to celebrate the start of new life who are looking for the Birthday entertainment .

I performed at Tansy Round’s 1 year old birthday party in Reading. It was a while ago as I remember it was a lovely sunny day and their were lots of happy kids and busy moms! Tansy wrote later,’ Thank you for coming on saturday, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the magic’.

But you don’t have to be 1 to have a good birthday…

Alan hired me to perform magic at his wifes birthday party at the Chequers Brasserie in Cookham Dean in Buckinghamshire. Lesley was not informed that I was coming. Her close friends and family came for the celebration dinner at which I performed close up Table magic. After the dinner, I stated that I was going to leave after performing one last effect. Without going into too much detail, I produced some keys , which were keys to the hot little motor in the pic above, Alan’s awesome birthday gift to her! It was such a lovely moment when she peeked outside and saw what the keys were for.

Alan kindly sent this quote a couple of weeks later, ‘ This was a vey special date for me, my wife Lesley’s 50^th birthday.  I have worked in corporate events for 20 years which meant booking Professional entertainers at all levels.  When I met Ian Souch I knew instinctively that he was exactly what I needed to make Lesley’s birthday very special. At a dinner party for 9 Ian astounded and astonished the guests, I am still hearing “how the h*ll did he do that?” The finale was a magical masterpiece, producing the key to Lesley’s gift, an MX5, this redefined the term ‘gobsmacked’,  bloody brilliant. I don’t think that really does you justice Ian, but I hope it helps?’

I am bringing my Mentalism Show, Reality Vaccine to the SouthStreet Arts Centre Theatre on the evening of Friday the 27th of January 2012. Mentalism is a fusion of magic, suggestion, psychology and body language reading. The evening will start with close up magic by amazing colleagues of mine at 7pm followed by the show at 8pm.
