Old Bell Hotel in Hurley
I do appreciate it if I have a gig close to home. Susan hired me recently for her wedding to David at the charming
Old Bell Hotel in Hurley. It was a stunning day so I got to perform outside with close up magic.

The happy couple
There were many scots and Irish invited so loads of kilts and sporans on the seen.
Susan came back from her honeymoon and emailed me, ‘Ian, what can I say, you went down a storm!!! Thanks so much for making our day so magical’. It was a pleasure to be there Susan.
Not so close to home was a wedding for Daniella in South-End -On Sea in Essex. Daniella had a huge marquee in the garden erected for the special day.
Photographs were taken byChris Russell.

Daniella's Wedding
Daniella said,’Thank you for blowing us all away with your magic. It was a real pleasure having your entertainment at the wedding. We’ll be recommending you to others’. Thank you Daniella. I enjoyed meeting all your friends and family.

Magic in the Skies!
Sara asked me to entertain her companies clients last year at the Gherkin at the end of last year, and this year she asked me to do some more Corporate magic at the unbelieavable venue of the Towerbridge Walkways. Yep, it’s those slim stretches of walkway between those towers in the picture and it can be setup for a meal, but this particular evening was setup for snacks and entertainment, including myself performing close up magic, and several roulette tables.

In the Walkway
There are amazing views from the Walkways and I recommend anyone going up for a tour.
Sara kindly said the following week, ‘Many thanks again for the fabulous entertainment’.
If your business is looking for either Close Up magic or Stand Up magical entertainment then Contact me for a review of what I can do to make your corporate event more of a success.

The Etcetera Theatre - Camden High Street
Last year I took my Mentalism show, Reality Vaccine, to the Edinburgh Fringe. This year, it was the Camden Fringe, which has been going for about 5 years. It is held at a number of theatres and I performed at the quaint Etcetera Theatre, which interestingly is where my show was first tried and tested on the public over 2 years ago. A lot has changed since then.
The show had some amazing reviews from the Fringe this year:
‘Walk through the door into a very different way of thinking. Souch manages to access ordinary thoughts and ideas to create a thoroughly enjoyable and impressive show…it’s a must see!’ onthefringepaper Camden Fringe review
‘Souch is a clever man playing with our memory and preconceptions’. snipelondon Camden Fringe review
The last night of the show, my technician and myself were ushered out of the theatre hastily by staff. The pub downstairs had been closed, as had all shops, theatres and pubs in the rest of Camden. As we exited into camden High Street, we were met by a wave of riot police swiftly helping us load and move on out!
At least their presence meant our car would not be looted, but what would a looter want with a mentalists props – show the police a trick!
I often peform my show, or part of it to Private parties and Corporate events, so if your looking for something different for your event, then Contact me now.
The next London performance of Reality Vaccine will be held the 17th and 18th of November 2011 at the Hen and Chickens Theatre in Islington. To book call 02077042001.

BBC LONDON
Last night, myself and Nikki Campbell, my creative Director and technician for my Mentalism show, ‘Reality Vaccine’, were interviewed by Joanne Good on BBCLondon 94.9. It was super fun and as we were promoting the show which starts in Camden this sunday at the Etcetera theatre. I was asked to perform some mentalism on air – testing indeed. However, Joanne was so impressed with it, that she brought two extra guests into the studio to see if I could re-create the effect with them – which I did thankfully! Joanne said, ‘Go see this show, this man is phenomenal’!

I love it when I am invited to entertain and share in the celebration of a Birthday party. Everyone is up for having a great time and magicians at a party can provide that extra touch of fun and amazement so well worth Enquiring about. I provide magical entertainment for a varied range of age groups too. Tricia Kemp asked me to entertain at her daughters 30th recently in Morden Surrey. She quoted, ‘Everyone has been talking about you and how brilliant the magic was. Thank you for making a special day even more special. We will recommend you to others’.

Is that a bunny I see?
The above photo was taken at Ian Bakers 50th birthday party in Edgeware, middlesex. Importantly, Ian had a sushi chef (love it!) so as I left after the party munching on a california roll, Ian shouted, ‘thanks Ian, you were great!’
Finally, I performed at Clive Even’s 80th birthday bash in Long Parish in Hampshire. I performed Close Up magic first followed by a Stand Up act. Clive’s son Jonathan said later in an email, ‘ your show and close up magic were both great and kept us debating how you did it all evening and most importantly, dad loved it!’.

You are feeling sleeepy...
My Mentalism show, ‘Reality Vaccine’, is being taken to the Camden Fringe in August (7th and 8th August). It will be held at the Etcetera theatre and tickets are available now from the booking office.
I often will perform a show for various corporate events. Laurie Spragg hired me to do my show for his Institute for Independant business (IIB Home Counties) at the Kings Hotel in Stokenchurch. He kindly sent me this message the following week, ‘ Everyone was talking about your performance afterwards. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. An amazing exerience.’
Often I may just do a small Stand Up routine at the end of an evening to round off the end of the entertainment. I did just that for Kim Sorkin at the Roussillon French restaurant in London. It was her mom’s birthday. Kim was thrilled and later said, ‘Thank you so much for last night. You are a real star!! I thought all your tricks were amazing and I loved being your assistant.’
If you would like me to add that perfect ending to your evenings entertainment then Contact me and I can tailor it to suite your needs.

Since the advent of the most spectacular Royal Wedding recently, I thought I would mention a few that come to mind at which I have performed: David and Gail Stoppard hired me to perform at their daughter Pippa’s Wedding in Flitton Bedforshire. They had a great band called T6Band playing soul, disco, funk and pop classics. David and Gail kindly quoted later the next week, ‘Thank you so much – you were fantastic. We have had a house full of guests overnight and the talk over breakfast has been all about your tricks’.
Natasha Flavell had agreat wedding at the Bull Hotel in Gerards Cross.

Natasha and Marcus
The Bull Hotel is one of my favourite venues and is close to where I live in Marlow, so pretty convenient too.
Another great hotel where I did a wedding was Hedsor House Hedsor house in Taplow and is a magnificent mid 19th century Mansion House.

Danesfield Hotel in Medmenham
Danesfield House Hotel is a stunning building with really beautiful gardens, so ideal for those reception photographs. I have perfromed here a number of times and find the service first class!

Sometimes a booker will have a large audience to entertain and will need the help of several magicians. I do enjoy these bookings, especially when it is with someone you know, like my good friend and talented magician, Simon Alexander. He and I have performed at several gigs together. The one where the above picture was taken was for a gig held by Yell Ltd at the Manor House in Wakefield Park, Mortimer. There was also Studio Rouge flashing their flashbulbs everywhere and a casinso run my Wild Card Fun Casinos.

Wild Card Fun Casinos
Another one I recall was for
Citroen and was held at
Beaumont House in Old Windsor. It stands out for me as I recall Simon had mislaid a fair amount of equipment and so had limited magical apparatus to perform with, but as a true professional would, he had no problems stunning the crowd!

- Reality Vaccine Mentalism Show
Last saturday Nikki Campbell, my creative director, and myself put on our Mentalism Show called Reality Vaccine at the Firestation Art Centre in Windsor.
I had my very talented close up friends
Clive Winterton and Chris Marris performing close up magic at the bar beforehand to loosen the audience up, as well as steal a few watches should the show not make enough money! Turns out, the show was a humongous success, nearly a total sellout show!
It takes so much effort to put on a show, but it all came together in the end.
Helps to have such a magnificent theatre with proper lighting, sound and even smoke machines..ohhhhh!
After the show, Nikki and I were deperate for some food, and found a super
Indian restaurant close by. There was a boisterous group of people inside. They saw us arrive and said they had booked the show on a whim, thinking it may be a comedy act! Fortunately they loved the show and typically, I ended up showing them some close up magic!
We are hoping next to put on our show at the
Camden Fringe in August after it’s successsful run at the
Edinburgh Fringe Festival last year.
